Living Love II
A worship experience centered on Belonging
“You’ve been in your room for a while. You’ve convinced yourself it’s comfortable. We saved you a seat in the living room.”
Living Love II · July 26
The Invitation
This is not a church service.
This is SoulFood. And we strive to give our best every single time.
Living Love II is an intimate worship experience for people who believe in God but have grown tired of not believing they belong to God. People who got dressed for church and sat back down.
Psalm 24 has something to say about that. The King of Glory doesn’t ask for worthiness. He asks for the door.
You don’t have to have it together to walk in. You just have to get in the car.
The Wound
“I am unworthy of belonging to something of value.”
The Lie
“The table wasn’t set for me. That living room was built for someone else.”
The Truth — Psalm 24
“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof — including you.”
The Invitation
“Lift up your heads, O gates, that the King of Glory may come in.”
The Journey
The Belonging Arc
Every element of this evening moves you one rung closer to something you have been standing outside of for too long.
Before You Arrive
Invisible Recognition
Something in the service will name your exact experience. You don’t know us yet, but you feel known.
The Decision
The Pratfall Overcome
You get dressed. You don’t sit back down. You fight through the resistance, and you get in the car. This is already a victory.
Arrival
The Room Receives You
Before a word is spoken, the space says: your seat has always been here.
The Worship
The Wound Named
Something in the set list, the scripture, the preached word will name the room you have been living in. Not with judgment but with love.
The Message
Psalm 24 Breaks In
Belonging was never contingent on your being enough. It was decided before you got here.
The Response
You Open the Door
You choose, perhaps for the first time, to belong. To God. To yourself. To this room.
After You Leave
The Living Room Stays With You
You drive home still feeling it. You text a friend. Something has changed that cannot be unchanged.
“Lift up your heads, O gates — and be lifted up, O ancient doors — that the King of Glory may come in.”
Psalm 24:7
